Children’s Aid Club supports an initiative that encourages and teaches kids about giving to others less fortunate and having a service heart. We currently provide seed money and organize two ‘Peanut Butter and Jelly Jams’ (PB&J Jams) each month where kids make hundreds of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for others who don’t have as much as they do. For some children and their families, these sandwiches may be the only food they have for dinner. Sandwiches are given to local food pantries and after school programs that serve low income youth. This program has inspired many of the sandwich makers’ parents to underwrite the monthly PB&J Jams, stretching our funds even further. This is a "kid" directed service project (kids do ALL of the 'labor') intended to teach children to give back to their community. What better way than to help feed our neighbors! Below are kids having a great time helping other kids! |
